Halloween Costumes: You Can Wear Again!

We all love Halloween. Whether it's the candy, the scary movies, or the carving of pumpkins for everyone Halloween brings a thrill of excitement. However, nothing is more fun then getting to dress up.

To quote one of my favorite movies, Mean Girls, "In Girl World, Halloween is the one night a year when girls can dress like a total slut and no other girls can say anything about it."

So you go out and buy this totally cute costume that's very expensive, and you get to wear it for one night and look totally hot but then what? I'll tell you what. Like previous costumes of mine, they end up in a trash bag in the basement.

So what is the solution? The solution is buy costumes that can not only look totally cute that one night, but can look cute on an everyday basis as well.

I've scoured the internet and I've compiled a list of costumes that you can wear again!

1. Hello Kitty - First up on my list of costumes is one of Hello Kitty. It's super cute for Halloween because not only is it girly but who doesn't like Hello Kitty? Not only that but the colors red and pink look good with all types of skin tones. So now the question is how to make it work in everyday life. Super easy on this one! First off you would just need to ditch the cat ears. Next the blouse itself is super cute. It would work well with jeans and cute little flats. Next while the skirt is a loud color it can totally work in everyday life. Dress it down with a dark blazer, white top, and neutral shoes. (Take a fashion risk!)

2. Grecian Goddess - Next up is this costume of the Grecian Goddess. A Halloween staple throughout the years. Who doesn't want to feel like a goddess for one night a year? Well how about feeling like a goddess more then one night a year! While this costume works for Halloween because not only is very flattering on all body types with the scoped neck, wide straps, empire waste, and flared sleeves. However, you can make this dress work for you again at another outing. All you would have to do is remove the flowing sleeves, and get rid of the extra fabric hanging on the side and VOILA. You have a cute summer dress.

3. The Air Force Officer - This is one badass costume. Not only will you feel sexy, but you will feel like a powerful woman! This is another costume that is super easy to make work in everyday life. I mean just look at the cute pencil skirt! It's a darker color so it will go well anything, and furthermore pencil skirts are very flattering and work appropriate. Next up would the blazer. I would keep the detail on the arms (I'm a sucker for military style!) but ditch the pocket flare. I love blazers because they can work with anything in your closet! And instantly dress up your favorite pair of jeans!

4. Sailor Girl - I think this dress is too cute for Halloween. I love old Hollywood style. This dress would be super fun to wear everyday. If your very bold and like to make a statement keep it as it is! The nautical style is in right now! However, if you are a little more modest with your fashion sense this dress would be easy to transform. Simply get rid of the tule in the skirt, and get rid of the sailor collar.

5. The Flapper - An American Icon, and you can literally find this costume anywhere! Flappers made a huge impression in the 20s and you can at your Halloween party. Have fun with the makeup on this one! And do I really have to say how to make this work in everyday life? I mean it's a LBD! (Little Black Dress). The way it's cut is super flattering, and it's fun to move in! Make it more everyday wearable by paring it with dark hose instead of fish nets.

6. Hippie - Too cute for Halloween. Flower child's are super fun to dress up as. Plus it's a costume that you can get ready in very quickly! The hair and makeup is minimal to bear none, plus look at her feet.... NO SHOES! No heels! Just get per-pedicure and your good to go! Now look at this costume. Take a away that vest and there is a really cute white, summer dress under there. Feeling the vest a little? I would suggest cutting away the tassels, and pairing it with a dark pair of jeans and a dark shirt. Let it be the staple of your outfit!

7. Jackie O - A style icon! This is a great costume because not only will you feel classy wearing it on Halloween you can totally wear this outfit again! The jacket and the skirt is too cute! Plus it's pink and it works well with all skin types! Just ditch the hat and gloves.

8.  Wednesday Adams - I love the Adams Family. To date one of my favorite movies ever, and I'm still a big fan of Christina Ricci. Anyway I know what you thinking. How in the heck can I make this work in everyday life? It's super low cut, and it shows off a lot of skin. Easy! Put a cami under the shirt so you don't show as much chest, and pair it with a high wasted skirt. Super stylish! And I would somehow find a way to make those tights work. I just love them!

9. The Stewardess - This is a sexy costume without being too sexy. It's a the perfect balance, and who hasn't dreamt of being apart of the mile high club? I would love to wear this out everyday! Simply get rid of the tie, and pin on the shirt, and of course get rid of the hooker boots. And whats left is a high wasted skirt and really cute top!

10. Gangster Girl - And last is the Gangster girl. A fun Halloween outfit because it's very cute, and kind of badass. Kind of like Jessica Rabbit except less boobs and not a red dress. You can totally make this outfit work! Of course get rid of the fish nets (except maybe save them for the bedroom ^.~), and get rid of the tie. Then I would cute off the straps and there you go! A really cute outfit. I would put a white, ruffly top underneath to give it more of a dressed up vibe. Plus I think you can totally make the hat work.

So Halloween is a blast! It's the one night of year where we can become someone else. So now don't fret about spending a fortune on a costume when you know you can wear it again!
